Project Update: Thursday, May 11, 2017

Construction is moving along on Chestnut Bridge. The last several weeks have included pouring the new sidewalk, ADA ramps, and forming the rustic bridge parapet wall. The next major step for the contractor is weatherproofing the bridge deck, which will help prevent premature deterioration of the bridge beams and substructure. The process takes approximately three days with no rain and warmer temperatures. Due to weather, this process has been delayed twice, however is scheduled for the upcoming week.

In the near future, the traffic configuration on Tanglewood will change. Removal of the temporary pavement along the east side of Tanglewood and the reconstruction of the curb line as well as the pavement and sidewalk ramps.

Please be aware and cautious of changing traffic patterns, however current traffic restrictions will still be enforced. The signs and restricted movements are for everyone’s safety. Your patience and understanding is appreciated.

Project Update: Friday, March 24, 2017

Crews will be removing the beams from the north half of the Chestnut Avenue bridge, which is undergoing demolition and replacement.

Because placement of a large crane on the roadway is necessary, traffic that is now reduced to one lane of travel for both directions will be intermittently stopped and delayed from about 5 minutes while the beams are removed and placed on trucks to be hauled away.

The work is expected to be take place between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday, March 27.

Your patience is appreciated as this work is necessary for completion of the project.
